Straw Blowing

Straw blowing is spraying straw on newly disturbed ground which acts as an insulating material that protects the area against erosion due to weather fluctuations and loss of moisture in the soil.  Straw blowing is used for large areas that need added eroson-control. Generally it is used for roadsides, fields, and highways. While the hydroseed mixture protects against wind and rain, straw can help to protect the temperature of the area to ensure even growth and protect delicate new plants.
