Hydro Seeding
Hydro Seeding
Hydro seeding generally consists of a combination of water, seed, fertilizer, and paper mulch to create a substance that is easily spread and takes root quickly, and is very uniform. BallGC, Inc. offers different types of mulch, depending on your need, your property, and your specific lawn. Types of mulch offered include many varieties of cellulose mulches, bonded fiber matrix materials, such as EcoAegis and Soil Guard, as well as a variety of dust-control products. In addition to our variety of mulches, BallGC, Inc. offers a variety of grass seed, including native grasses, wildflowers, specialty grasses, and fertilizer. As an added benefit, Hydro seeding often costs up to 75% less than laying sod, and does not require back-breaking labor on your part.
To Hydro seed, the combination of seed, water, mulch and fertilizer are applied on the ground. Hydro seeding is wind-proof, and is wash-resistant. Hydro seeding stays where it is placed-even on steep slopes and hill sides. The mulch is a blue-green color, which makes it easy to see where the mulch has been applied. The color fades within a week of application. This feature makes Hydro seeding an excellent option for those in need of planting to control erosion and prevents the “spotty” growth often seen when you seed a lawn by hand.
Hydro seeding is also a fast way to create a lush, green lawn that goes from barren dirt to mowing in just 4 to 6 weeks, when the mulch is kept damp. Germination depends on the weather; the warmer the weather during application, the quicker seeds will germinate in the damp mulch. Including fertilizer in the process ensures you have a lawn that is well-fed and ready to grow. If you keep your lawn watered, you can expect to be mowing your new beautiful lawn in less than two months!
